Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Major Traffic Delays On I-81: PennDOT (Photos)

A crash involving a tractor-trailer caused delays on Interstate 81 in Central Pennsylvania on Wednesday afternoon, July 24, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice.

The crash happened in the left lane of Interstate 81 South at mile marker 66 near Exit 66: Downtown Harrisburg/Front Street around 1:40 p.m., Schreffler explained. 

There were briefly backlogs to the I-83 split, but traffic is currently getting by in the right lane.

The shoulder remained closed as of 2:30 p.m., according to PennDOT's 511PA traffic cameras.
